This Fall our Lifegroup had the pleasure of taking a retreat to a beautiful lake house owned by my friends Lauren and Jason’s parents! They were so gracious to host us, and we were all pretty blown away by how nice the lake house was. You’ll see below–gorgeous.
It was a weekend intended for rest and fellowship, and I believe we succeeded in both. It’s so easy to get caught up in responsibilities and the realities of a busy life that taking a true Sabath rest, though commanded of all believers, can become one of the hardest commands to keep. I got to teach a Holy Yoga class on the first morning, our barista friend, Alissa, made everyone lattes and americanos to order, and we all worked really hard to stay in our pajamas and do nothing all day. It was the loveliest, and it will be a time I look back on with fond memories of Fall colors, fireplaces, hammock chairs, a beautiful lake, peaceful rain, deep conversations, and Jesus showing up in big ways.
^ please excuse the dog hair on my shirt and my chipped nails! Haha
OH! And a lot of these photos were taken by my friend, Kourtni, with my camera! Just so you know :)
^ Hahaha, that’s Kourtni holding her mug for the weekend…I love that it said “Steve” on it.
Do you have any perfect memories of rest? I’d love to hear them!
