Friday Phone Dump

“Picture a wave. In the ocean. You can see it, measure it, its height, the way the sunlight refracts when it passes through. And it's there. And you can see it, you know what it is. It's a wave.

And then it crashes in the shore and it's gone. But the water is still there. The wave was just a different way for the water to be, for a little while. You know it's one conception of death for Buddhists: the wave returns to the ocean, where it came from and where it's supposed to be.”

1) Lunar New Year is a pretty big deal around here - this is the aftermath of some celebrations on the sidewalk in Japantown!

2) I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this here before, but I’m part of a group for fans of the podcast “Harry Potter and the Sacred Text” (which is not as weird as it sounds) here in the Bay Area. It’s a lovely group full of the sweetest people, and for the holidays, we swapped cards with groups from all over the world :)

I snapped this photo of the pile of holiday cards at our last meeting, because it just made me smile.

3-4) A sun-nap one morning and a cloudy work space the next.

5-6) Winter skies are just….wow.

7-8) More naps for Bozeman (feat. our ukulele, Nini) and the mug Brian and Morgan gave Colin for Christmas which I used for my oat milk ice cream the other night - yummmmm

9-13) Rose hour is the new golden hour.

14-16) We’ve spent the past couple of Saturdays in the park with our ukulele, and it’s been lovely. A picnic and reading in the park was already one of my favorite weekend activities, and ukulele practice has made it even sweeter.

17) Just some shadows and fire-hose hookups I found intriguing while walking yesterday :)

We’re taking things pretty slowly around here this weekend since we have some busy times ahead. I hope your weekend is full of light and laughter, wherever you are <3

xx
